Chicken Tinola or Tinolang Manok is one of the most simple and healthiest dish in the Philippines. It has very few ingredients but, the taste is so unique and delicious. It seems so magical, how the taste explode into your mouth in a pleasant way. You can taste the aromatic flavor of the ginger and garlic, chicken broth, a slight sweetness of the sauteed onions and a very savory taste from green papaya or chayote squash.

I remember growing up, this is one of my favorite Chicken recipe soup to eat with rice hitta mera. Especially, when it is rainy season. It makes me feel warm and active.  I love the garlicky and gingery flavor of this soup.  As, I mentioned earlier, this is one of the few Filipino dishes with less ingredients but has a lot of vitamins and nutrients. When you give birth in the Philippines, your in-laws or parents will make you Chicken Tinola, almost every single day for you to gain your energy back and of course this is really a great source of calcium and protein if you are planning on breastfeeding this soup with boast your milk up.

It is amazing how food can change our mood. It made me realized that life is so wonderful that somehow, food can make us happy and can make us feel like home away from home.
