Hotpot is one of the most popular meals in Asia and becoming more popular now around the world. It consists of a simmering pot in a portable stove with boiling soup based at the center of a table, and all raw ingredients placed beside the pot, so people can add and cook whatever they like in the soup based.
Hotpot is a very delicious and healthy meal, this is usually done in the dining table and people gather around the and self serve themselves. This is such a fun way to socialize with family and friends. it is basically dip and eat while it is still hot.
How to eat Hotpot:
Eating hotpot can warm the body and improve circulation in winter, and help cool the body in summer. We usually make hotpot when, we have a minor sickness like cough, cold, sore throat and sinuses. It acts like a temporary relief in my opinion.Please, do not add all the ingredients to the soup at once. Add the ingredients that take longest to cook first, like corns chicken etc. If you are making seafood hotpot put the shellfish first. Then, starting adding your vegetables. Also, make sure all the ingredients are well cook before eating.
Then, you can eat it by itself or just dip it to your prepared dipping sauce.
There are two types of Hotpot Clear and Spicy Broth:
A Clear Broth is basically, cooking it in a boiling water and has a really mild taste. The meat or seafood are the only source of flavor. It is sometimes called Shabu – Shabu in Japan.
A Spicy Broth is usually cooked with Red Chili, Peppers, Chilies, Peppercorns and the most common in Chinese spice is Sichuan peppers.
You can make your own Broth depending on your taste buds. In my case, I just bought a Sichuan Hotpot Base to save me more time in the Kitchen preparing all the ingredients and walllla! I had a really delicious yummy soup based.
